Description

Demise with warranty from Robert Agrene of Hatton' to John Draper of Warrewyk of a croft called le Nether Cuntelowe lying within the common of Hatton' between the road leading from Warrewyk as far as Haseley on the one hand and one little grove of the said Robert on the other hand in breadth and extending in length from Redulfeld as far as Mayell' Cuntelond according to its boundaries; to hold from the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist [ 24 June] next for 14 years, rendering annually one red rose at the same feast; the said Robert and his heirs to maintain the sides of the said croft and the said John the two chief hedges at both ends of the said croft at his own costs and charges as often as necessary; the said John to have subwoods and tockynges of the woods when they were cut except new hedges. Dated at Hatton', Saturday after the feast of SS Marcellianus and Peter, 17 Henry VI. Witnesses: William Weole of Hatton', Thomas Saundur of the same, Robert Weole of the same and many others. Octagonal seal of red wax on tag, 1/2 in., the letter W crowned. Latin, parchment, 101/4 x 41/4 in., indented.
