From Arthur Hodgson, Montpellier, Brisbane to Frank Hodgson He is to excuse his Mother from writing as the heat is very severe. They are badly in want of rain. Col Ward's stations are abandoned for want of water andgrass. He advises Frank not to be a 'trust hunter' as men only get despised for their trouble. He describes the difference between Cambridge and Eton regarding money and snobbery. He laments the changes at Eton. They are only existing there, heavy expenses and much discomfort. The people are all second rate. He would like to go home on the steamer through the Straits of Magellan but cannot see his way to it. He criticises the Governor 'too old, too worn out'. He speaks of news of Mrs P and Bob Campbell. He hopes that Frank enjoyed his hunting during Christmas vacation.
