Hodgson of Clopton House: Correspondence and diary notes

Description

From Arthur Hodgson, Montpellier, Brisbane to Frank Hodgson. Thanks Frank for his long letter. He speaks of the state of the Church of England at the present time and his hopes for Frank's future there. In two years time he will have paid off half of Annie's £12,000 and will be more able to assist his other children. They still intend to leave Sydney in October. There is no probability of a change of government at present as it is very strong. He will resign his post of Colonial Secretary at the end of September. Mama has had a very trying summer and a change in Sydney will do her good.
