Nuthurst

Description

Grant by William son of Robert de Fulwoode of Tanworth to John the Schepehered of Nuthurst and Agnes his wife, for their lives, of all that piece of ground in Tanworth, extending in length from the king's highway leading from the house of Thomas Wystan towards Hakelowe on the one side, as far as the land of Thomas le Fox on the other. In breadth between Springwelle Lone on one side and the land of Walter de Nuthurst on the other. To hold the said plot of land with all appurtenances for their lives, paying 2s. 7d. in silver at two usual feasts for all services. Warranty clause. Witnesses: John le , William de Folewode senior, Richard atte Cherne(?), Thomas Wystan, Richard Aleyen, clerk. Dated Sunday in the vigil of the Purification of the B.V.M., 18 Edward III. Note on the reverse of these two deeds are some fine contemporary doodles of figures.
