Description

Indenture of Release whereby Samuel Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon (grandson and heir at law of Samuel Smith therefore of the same place maltster decd.) Sarah Taylor of Stratford-upon-Avon widow and sole executrix of the Will of Mary Smith late of same place widow decd. Who was sole executrix and widow of the said Samuel Smith the Grandfather and Thomas Hart of Stratford-upon-Avon Yeoman transferred to Benjamin Smith of Hampton Lucy Yeoman and the mortgage in the premises referred to in TR46/1/17 and TR46/1/23 which was created by TR46/1/18 and amounted to £190. Signed Samuel Smith, Sarah Taylor and Thomas Hart. Seals of red wax a boar's head couped on a wreath. Witnesses Hannah Salmon, John Court, Susanna Elderton and Dion. Bradley. Endorsed with a memorandum dated 1st March 1770 whereby Thomas Hart acknowledged that he had received that day of Benjamin Smith a further sum of £60 making the total sum owing £250.
