Licence, Feoffment and Conveyance: Nuneaton, Attleborough, Stockingford and Chilvers Coton

Sixteenth Century copies of: 1) A Licence dated 10 February 1581/2 (Old style) [1582] granted by Queen Elizabeth to William Cooke esquire and Francis Rame, gentleman to alien to William White, 3 messuages, 3 gardens, 20 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow, 40 acres of pasture and 5 acres of wood with appurtenances in Noneton [Nuneaton] and Coton alias Chilvers Coton. 2) A Feoffment dated 13 February 1581/2 (Old style) [1582] by William Cooke of London, esquire and Francis Rame to William White of Weddington, co. Warwks., yeoman, of a messuage or tenement in Nooneaton [Nuneaton] with appurtenances called Le farme and situate before the Church of Nooneton and 2 1/2 virgates of land in Nooneton enjoyed with the said messuage and farm, also a croft called Stokes Croft adjoining the said messuage in Nooneton and the house built in or upon the said croft and all other endowments arable lands, tenures, meadows, pastures and common pastures in Nooneton to the said messuage and farm belonging theretofore the inheritance of Anthony Cooke, esquire, also one other croft of land lying in Attleborow [Attleborough] in the Parish of Nooneton commonly called Willingtons or Merrington Croft, also a messuage in Stockingford in the Parish of Nooneton then or formerly in the tenure of Roger Awcott, also a grove, wood or close with appurtenances called Jebeth Hey situaute in Stockingford in the Parish of Nooneton then or formerly inm the occupation of the said Roger Awcott also a cottage in Washe Lane in the Parish of Coton [Chilvers Coton] then or formerly in the occupation of Alsaha, widow of Thomas Fyndome deceased which messuage an all other the above recited premises were theretofore in the tenure of Thomas Fyndome, gentleman deceased and after the death of Alsaha his widow; together with all rents reversions remainders etc. Appointment by the Grantor of George Downes, clerk and William Chaplen, yeoman to be their Attornies to deliver Seisin etc. Witnesses: Emanuel Mancell, Wm. Holte, Wm. Mansfilde, Roger Cowper, John Wilson, John Baylies and John Lawrans. 3) Conveyance dated 12 February 1581/2 (Old style) [1582] by William Cooke of London, esquire and Francis Rame of London, gentleman to William White of Weddington, co. Warks, yeoman, of the premises described in 2) above for the sum of £240.
