Description

I annotated copy of the programme for 'Hamlet' and 1 copy of the cast list, both annotated '8th May 1997'.

The programme contains articles:
'Shakespeare's Tragedies' by Stanley Wells, Director of the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham,
'Hamlet, a Stage History' by Rebecca Brown, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust,
'Revenge - a Family Affair' by Philip Dodd, Director of the Institute for Contemporary Arts,
'Hamlet, the Historie [sic] of a text' by Neil Taylor, Roehampton Institute and Philip Edwards,
'Revenge, Justice and the Law', a selection of comments by Francis Bacon (1625), Bruce Anderson, Jonathan Ree, Adam Phillips, Albie Sachs, W.H. Auden, John Kerrigan, Anne Barton, Blake Morrison,
'Costume Drawings' by Mark Thompson.

Included in the programme is an image from a photograph by Allan Titmuss of Cicely Berry, RSC Director of Voice, working with teachers in Stratford during the Prince of Wales Shakespeare School.

Custodial History

Collected by the RSC and deposited with SBT.

Both are embossed with the stamp of the RST Library.

Admin History

This programme and cast list seem to have been used as a reference resource for internal RSC use, prior to transfer to SBT.
