Admin History
Elizabeth Marshall (nee Tatham) (1926-2020) was born in London.
When World War II commenced, the Tatham’s London home was requisitioned by the army. The family moved to Norfolk where Elizabeth thrived at 'Runton Hill', a girls' boarding school. The school was evacuated and relocated to Foxcote House in Ilmington, south Warwickshire. This resulted in frequent trips to the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, where Elizabeth's passion for theatre, Laurence Olivier and collecting programmes began.
During the war, Elizabeth enlisted with the Women's Royal Naval Service. WREN Tatham was recruited to work at Bletchley Park.
Post-World War II, Elizabeth married Hugh Marshall and had three children, Alison, Edward and Helen. They lived in Sudbury, Derbyshire and were married for nearly sixty years. Elizabeth retained her love of theatre and became involved in a local open prison theatre group in Sudbury.
