Description

Conveyance by lease and release from George Haines of Henley-in Arden glover and John Horsely of the same place mercer, trustees under the will dated 20 March 1698 of John Whately late of Henley-in-Arden decd., son and heir of Fulke Whately, to Christopher Baker of the same place tanner in consideration of £173 of the Further New close in Great Back field, the New close alias Wad close in Little Back field and 10 ridges of arable land then known as Clay piece, all in Henley and containing together c. 34 acres, and a selion or ridge of arable land in the common field of Wootton Wawen near Gallow slade, to hold to Christopher and his heirs free of all incumbrances except a rentcharge of 12s. per annum payable to 12 poor of Henley aforesaid, and appointment of Francis Baker of the same place maltster as their attorney to give seisin.
