Knight of Barrells

Description

Opinion on title of the Barrels estate by Harry Thring. Counsel had perused the title to lots 6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 16 on behalf of the Rev. H.C. Knight. The difficulty in this title consisted in the identification of the parcels; in several instances three separate descriptions being furnished, (1) that of the particulars, (2) that in the abstract, and (3) that in the map. The evidence with respect to the land tax being discharged was very defective and the purchaser should obtain a declaration on this point. He had conveyed the tithes in lot 16 by a separate deed, as they could not conveniently be mixed up. Signed: Harry Thring, 6 Old Buildings, Lincolns Inn, 17 December 1856.
