Description

Gift from Nicholas Brome esq. son and heir of John Brome late of Baddesley to William Liggon', Thomas Liggon', William Harwell, Thomas Shirley esqs., Richard Hall and Edmund Stradlyng of all his lordships and manors with rents, reversions, services and appurtenances in the counties of Warr' and Northampton'. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Warranty clause. Witnesses: John Beaufitz; John Archer; Bartholomew Knyght; John Hyll; Thomas Vchener and many others. Given at Baddesley 6 May 13 Edward IV [1473]. Circular seal of red wax on tag, imperfect. 1/2 in. see DR3/265, DR3/268 DR3/273. Within a rush plaited border inserted into the wax, a bird with a sprig of foliage and in a panel above the letters cu in black letter.
