Counterpart of lease from Henry Ferrers of Baddesley Clynton esq. to George Smyth of Balsall labourer of a house or tenement on Baddesley Common near a wood called Kyngswood and a close or meadow containing six days `math' [swath] lying on the west side of land called Newland, all which properly belonged to the manor of Baddesley and was then in the occupation of Elizabeth Smyth mother of the said George. To hold for 21 years after the death of the said Elizabeth for the annual rent of 10s., the said George to maintain the said buildings, preserve the hedges and mounds of the said close and not to assign any of the said property during the said term without the written consent of the said Henry.
