Early 17th century copy of the inquisition taken at Kenelworth 20 June 21 Henry VII [1506] before John Lee Escheator for the King for co. Warwick upon the death of Thomas Marrogh serjeant-at-law. The said Thomas Marrogh was seised of the manor of Kingeswode, 8 messuages, 8 gardens, 2 orchards and appurtenances in Warr', 200 acres of land and 100 acres of pasture in Tachebroke Episcopi and Hampton next Warr', and 7 messuages, one cottage, 3 virgates of land, 70 acres of land and 12 acres of meadow in Wotton and Hill. The said manor of Kingeswode was held from John Norbury knt. for the service of a red rose at Christmas and Midsummer and was of the annual value of £4 6s. 8d., the said messuages and lands in Warr' were held from the King as of Warwick Castle in freeburgage i.e. for the annual rent of 7s. and were of the annual value of £14, the said 100 acres of land in Hampton were held from the Abbey of Bordesley and were of the annual value of 20s., the said 200 acres of land in Tachebroke Episcopi were held from the Bishopric of Coventry and Lichfield and were of the annual value of 20s., and the said messuages, cottage and lands in Wotton and Hill were also held from the King as of Warwick Castle for military service and were of the annual value of 66s. 8d. The said Thomas died on 5 April 20 Henry VII and Dorothy Marrogh his daughter and heir was aged 7 years or more. 20 June 21 Henry VII [1506]. Copy made in the early 17th century. Endorsed: 1.
