Transcript of Public Record Office MS STAC 8/26/10, viz: the petition in the Court of Star Chamber brought on behalf of Thomas Wilson, newly-inducted vicar of Stratford-upon-Avon, against certain inhabitants of the town who caused a riot in the parish church on 30 May 1619, who subsequently re-erected a maypole 'by riotous force' on 30 September 1619, and who circulated libellous rhymes against other civic figures throughout the summer; and against William Nixon for various irregularities in the Consistory Court.
