The Stratford-upon-Avon Labourers' Dwelling company was established in 1876 to provide rented accommodation for the working classes. They built houses in Mansell Street and Arden Street. In 1950 the company changed its name to the Stratford-upon-Avon Land Investment Company Limited, and again, in 1959, to the Stratford-upon-Avon Investment Company Ltd. The company went into voluntary liquidation in 1983 when the records were deposited.
