Mortgage and Acquittance: Old Stratford (Shottery)

Description

Mortgage dated 3 January 1731/2 (Old style) [1732] by Thomas Bott of Stratford-upon-Avon, apothecary, to Joseph Woolmer of the same, gent., of the lease from the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Stratford-upon-Avon to John Bloxam as in ER3/136, which had been assigned by the said John Bloxam and Anthony Bloxam, gent., his brother to Thomas Bott on 1 January instant; such mortgage being to secure the repayment of £320, with interest, on 3 July following. Witnesses: William Rutter and Thomas Woolmer. With acquittance by Joseph Woolmer endorsed for £70 part of the principal, 17 February 1731/2 (OLd style) [1732].
