Release dated at London, Monday after the Feast of Invention of the Holy Cross, 16 Edward III [1342], from John James, son of John James of Stratford upon Avvon to Robert [de Stratford], Bishop of Chichester and Walter de Cokefeld, lord of Clopton, and Matilda his wife, of all his right in the manor of Clopton and in the Grove in the parish of Stratford and in the meadow of Shotred [Shottery]. Witnesses: Sir William de Lucy and Sir John Streoch, Knts., John de Peyto, senior, Henry Milys, William de Hatton, Junr., John Pount, Roger Strecch and others.
