Power of Attorney: Clopton Charters

Description

Power of Attorney dated 23 March 1662/3 (Old style) [1663] from Brome Whorwood of Halton, co. Oxon, esq., to Edward Mayden of the Precincts of St. Katherine's near the Tower of London, gent., to deliver seisin to John Clopton, esq., of manors, lands, etc. bargained and sold to him in an indenture of the same date. Witnesses: Charles Bird, Thomas Cappar and William Thornbrough. Endorsed: 'Broome Whorwood's letter of Attorney belonging to that knavish assignmt he made my uncle (ye cause of suits)'
