Probate of the Will dated 31 July 1793, of John Tempest of Wynyard, co. Durham, esq., concerning lands in Durham and Kent but mentioning his late father, John Tempest, esq., who died in 1776, and his wife Ann, formerly Ann Townsend, whom the testator married in 1776, Gore Townsend being a trustee of the marriage settlement, and mentioning also the testator's eldest son John Tempest. Witnesses: Francis Hulton, Francis Hulton the younger and Samuel M. Whitehorn, clerk to Mr. Hulton. Codicils dated 1 April 1794 and 2 June 1794. Proved 28 February 1795.
