Grant of Land: Sutton Wicke and Sutton Courtenay (Oxfordshire)

Description

Settlement between William Croft of Nether Ettington, gent., and Jane his wife (one of the daughters of John Brent of Over Ettington, clerk, deceased, and one of the grand-children of Elizabeth Tirrold, late of Over Ettington, widow, deceased) of the one part and Arthur Rowney of Nether Ettington, gent., and Edmund Mason of Halford, gent., of the other part, whereby William Croft and Jane his wife granted to Arthur Rowney and Edmund Nason thirteen acres of arable land and one and a half acres of pasture with common belonging thereto in Sutton Wicke and Sutton Courtney, co. Berks., which were devised to the said Jane by the will of the said Elizabeth Tirrold; to hold the same to the use of the said Jane for life, with remainder to the use of William Croft for life and with remainder, after the death of the said Jane and William, to the use of the heirs by them begotten. Witnesses: Margaret White and Sarah White. Memorandum that Walter Weale made attornment of the said premises by paying six pence to the said Trustees. Witnesses: James Corderoy and Richard Ely.
