Marriage Settlement: Hunningham

Description

Settlement dated 9 January 1698/9 (Old style) [1699], on the Marriage of Thomas Cox of Hunningham, yeoman, (son and heir of Thomas Cox late of Hunningham, deceased) to Mary Reeve, one of the daughters of Benjamin Reeve of Rowington, gent., being a conveyance from Thomas Cox to Benjamin Reeve and Nathaniel Reeve, his eldest son, for £200, of a messuage in which the said Thomas Cox then dwelt, two closes adjoining thereto in Hunningham, and three closes of pasture and a meadow in Hunningham, all in the occupation of Thomas Cox; to hold to the use of Thomas Cox for life with remainders to Mary Reeve for life and after her death to the first and other sons of Thomas Cox and Mary Reeve successively in tail male. Witnesses: Edward Willes junior, Robert Fullwood and Francis Yardley. Memorandum of livery of seisin witnessed by Harding Bovey, Susanna Jackson and Ro. Fullwood.
