Agreement for Payment in Lieu of Tithes: Saintbury

Description

Agreement dated 5 March 1746/7 (Old style) [1747], between Hugh Brawne of Bridgetown, esq., Lord of the Manor of Saintbury, co. Glos., and John Boyce, Rector of Saintbury, clerk, concerning the tythes of Saintbury, whereby the said John Boyce agreed to take £11 per annum in lieu of tithes and commons claimed from and upon lands in Saintbury called The Hill and Horns farm belonging to the said Hugh Brawne. Witnesses: J. Fortescue and Edmund Pembruge.
