Grant of land: Clopton

Description

Grant dated at Clopton Tuesday after Feast of St. Wulstan 27 Edward I [1299], from John le Barbur of Stratford and Margery his wife to John Coldelle of half a virgate of land in the fields of Clopton formerly held by John son of Nicholas Paletot, rendering yearly to the lord of Clopton a pair of white gloves of the value of one halfpenny and paying in hand to the grantors 2 1/2 marks of silver. Witnesses: Henry de Stodleye, Hugh de Clintone, William le Warde, John Whitesmith (Albus Faber), Henry le Wayte, John le Franc, Alan de Schottrethe and others. Two seals.
