Lease: Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Lease dated 1 September 1684, from the Mayor, Aldermen, etc. of Stratford-upon-Avon, to William Sowtherne of Lapworth, clerk (on the surrender of a former lease granted to Richard Shakle of Chipping Campden co. Glouc., yeoman) of a tenement in Stratford in Henley Street having a messuage in the possession of William Hall, skinner, on the west and being now or late in the tenure of John Cooper or George Hurst, for 51 years, at a yearly rent of 20 shillings and a couple of fat capons. Witnesses: Thomas Ainge and Thomas Woolmer. Endorsed 'New Lease granted to Thos. Smith, 1734'.
