Description

Assignment dated 8 December 1693, by William Warry of Stratford-upon-Avon, 'Tobacconesse' and Joyce his wife, under licence from the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Stratford-upon-Avon to Joseph Smith of Stratford, ironmonger, of a lease from the said Mayor, etc., 8 December 1691, of a messuage etc. in Church Street, having the tenement of Hester Jones on the East, Evesham Lane on the West, Church Street on the North and the orchard of Mr. John Combe on the South, for 41 years at a yearly rent of 15 shillings and a couple of capons; such assignment being by way of mortgage to secure the payment of £120 with interest.
