Indenture of Assignment and Release between Maria Townsend of Red Lion Street in the parish of St. Andrew, Holborn, co. Middx., widow and sole executrix of Joseph Townsend late brewer of London, deceased, of the one part, Samuel Lovell of Kinsmayton, co. Middx., esq., of the second part, and Joseph Townsend of New Burlington Street, co. Middx., esq., son and heir of the said Joseph Townsend, deceased, of the third part (reciting the Marriage Settlement of Joseph Townsend the elder and the said Maria Townsend, dated 1 December 1714, also the will of Joseph Townsend the elder, ER3/1997, also various other transactions subsequent to the death of Joseph Townsend senior, also reciting the death of Thomas Beacon surviving Trustee of the said Marriage Settlement and the appointment of Thomas Beacon Townsend and Samuel Lovell in his place and reciting the death of Thomas Beacon Townsend who appointed Joseph Townsend his residuary legatee and executor together with Robert Ferguson), whereby it was witnessed that Maria Townsend and Samuel Lovell, in consideration of £1300 and 5 shillings to each respectively paid by Joseph Townsend, released to Joseph Townsend all their interest in any sums of money etc. to which Maria Townsend was entitled by the said Marriage Settlement or Will of Joseph Townsend senior.
