Lease from Symon Raleighe of Farnburghe, esq., George Raleighe, son and heir apparent of the said Symon Raleighe, and Edwarde Raleighe son and heir apparant of the said George Raleighe, to John Lynnell of Cropredy in co. Oxon., yeoman, on payment of £40, of a messuage and three yardland 'and three-quarternes of a yarde lande' with appurtenances in the town, parish and fields of Avondorsett [Avon Dassett] now in the occupation of Henry Lynnell father of the said John; to hold the said messuage etc. from and after the deaths of the said Henry Linnell, Joan his wife and Nicholas Wayte or from the surrender of a lease dated 10 May 15 Elizabeth [1573] made by Symon Raleighe, Anne Raleighe then his wife and the said George Raleighe unto the said Henry Lynell, Joan his wife and Nicholas Wayte, for 80 years, if the said John Lynnell shall so long live, paying yearly the sum of 32 shillings and also paying to the said George Raleighe at the decease of the said John Linnelle a heriot of the 'best good or cattell whereof he the said John Lynnell shall dye possessed'. Witnesses: Thomas Chamberlayne, John Knight, Richard Gostelowe and James Jannixe. Bond for performance of covenants attached. Witnesses: Thomas Chamberlayne and George Wilkensonne.
