Lease and Release: Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Conveyance by Lease and Release dated 28 29 August 1758, to Francis Keyt Dighton of Clifford Chambers, esq., John Dighton of the Middle Temple, London, gent., the Reverend John Martin, rector of Clifford Chambers, clerk, William Smart of Winchcombe, co. Glos., gent., and William Taplin and Samuel Morris of Clifford Chamber, yeoman, Feoffees of the parish of Clifford Chambers from the Reverend Francis Gastrell of Stratford-upon-Avon, clerk, and George Huxley of Stratford-upon-Avon, yeoman, of two messuages in Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon and all that ground lying behind the same containing in length fifty yards from the front of the said tenements, which said tenements are in the occupation of Thomas Ashwin and Jonathan Minett and are bounded on the West by other premises lately purchased by Francis Gastrell from Elizabeth Borodale, and on the East by a messuage in the tenure of John Eales, and contain in breadth to the said Street eleven yards; IN EXCHANGE for a messuage and garden in Dead Lane, Chapel Lane or Walker's Street, late in the occupation of Sarah Spurr, widow, and heretofore used as two messuages, containing in length 60 yards and in breadth ten yards by the street side and bounded on the West by the land formerly of Sir Hugh Clopton and then of Francis Gastrell and on the East by land late of John Spurr and now of Francis Gastrell.
