Attested Copy of the Will dated 17 November 1758, of Joseph Townsend of Honington Hall, with bequests to his wife Judith, his son Gore Townsend and his daughter Ann and with mention of John Gore, father of Judith Townsend; and devising to Judith and John Gore his real property in London upon trust for sale and subject to his debts and legacies if his personal estate should be insufficient to satisfy the same, and thereafter to settle the residue upon his son Gore Townsend in fee simple; and limiting to John Gore and John Mallish the residue of his real property for a term of 500 years upon trust to suffer Judith Townsend to use and enjoy the same during the minority of Gore Townsend and also to raise portions for younger children, if personalty provided for that purpose should fall short, with remainder to trustees to the use of Gore Townsend for life with remainder for the first and other sons of Gore Townsend successively in tail male with remainders over; with mention also of his sister Elizabeth wife of James Oswald, and his sister Catherine, wife of Joseph Mellish, and bequeathing the residue of his personal estate (including leasehold premises in New Burlington Street, London) subject to debts and legacies, to Judith Townsend and John Gore in trust to purchase hereditaments and settle the same upon trusts as before mentioned as to residue of realty. Witnesses: R. Swanne, Thomas Sabin and William Hunt. Codicil dated 11 October 1760, revoking legacies to Ann Townsend, his daughter. Witnesses: William Hunt, John Sands and Salisbury Goode. Attested, 6 November 1775, by John Wilson and John Rawlins.
