Description

Grant dated from William Hale of Stratford-upon-Avon, weaver, and Isabella his wife, to John Eyres, Thomas Compton and William Wyllotes of the same of their tenement in Stratford in the High Street lying between a tenement of Thomas Staffordshire called `le Swan' and the tenement of William Miller, mercer. Witnesses: Robert Hobday, capital bailiff of Stratford, John Eyres and Thomas Dawbys, constables of the same, and John Yonge and Thomas Weuer, sub-bailiffs there. Dated at Stratford, Monday before the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 8 Edward IV [1469]. Two seals of red wax: i) Broken, a fleur de lys ii) Bird with wings displayed.
