Grant: Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Grant from John Hull, Rector of the parish church of Brampton, co. Northants. to William Staffordshyre of Stratford-upon-Avon, corviser, of one shop in Stratford in 'Brugestrete' [Bridge Street], between the tenements of Thomas de Tredyngton on each side 'in ye myddulrowe', which shop, with other lands and tenements the said John Hull formerly held, together with John Harewell and John Lee, esqs., and Robert Trout and John Mortemer, chaplains, of the gift and feoffment of Nicholas Saucer junior of Stratford. Witnesses: William Lokyer, bailiff of Stratford, Richard Lokyer and William Beoley, sub-bailiffs, Hugh Salford and William Brasyer. Dated at Stratford, Wednesday before St. Thomas the Martyr, 11 Henry VI [1432]. Seal of red wax, broken and detached. The tag is a fragment of an earlier deed, a bond of obligation mentioning Smethcote, co. Salop., and John Marchalle of Walton.
