Alienation by Stephen Hales, London, gent., as agent and attorney (with his brother Christopher Hales) to sell and deliver seisin for his brother John Hales, Coventry, gent of his lands and premises at Stoneleigh Grange, granted to him 23 July 1545 by King Henry VIII to hold as one-fortieth part of a knight's fee for 14s p.a., In consideration of £328, Hales conveys Stoneleigh Grange and appurtenances, together with two watermills, one called Stoneleigh mill, the other a walk or fulling mill, to Ralph Underhill of Stoneleigh, gent. and Mary his wife, to hold of the Crown as before.
