Description

Settlement prior to the marriage of Thomas Leigh, gent., one of the sons of Sir Thomas Leigh, deceased and Dame Alice Leigh, widow, to Katherine Spencer, one of the daughters of Sir John Spencer of Oldethroppe (Althorp), Northants., securing the manor and estate of Stoneleigh and Ashow and the manor and estates of Leek Wootton alias Cross Grange, with appurtenances, to the use of the said Dame Alice Leigh for life and then to the heirs male of Thomas Leigh, with successive remainders to the heirs male of his brother William Leigh and his sisters Alice, wife of Thomas Cony, citizen and mercer; Katherine, wife of Edward Baber, Lincolns Inn, esq. and Winifred, wife of George Bonde, citizen and haberdasher. Trustees: Sir William Cordell, Master of the Rolls Thomas Bromley, Solicitor General John Southcote, Justice of Pleas Sir John Spencer Edward Baber Signed and sealed by Alice Leigh. Witnesses: William Baldwin, Robert Sabcote.
