Papers in Chancery case re estate of Richard Carter, Gloucester Place, St. Marylebone, Middlesex, Esquire He, by will 12 April 1800 (died 29 December 1800) devised copyhold estates in Knowle, Balsall, Hampton-in-Arden to son Thomas for life with remainder to Thomas's eldest son and issue successively. The son, Thomas, had 6 children and the premises are in the possession respectively of the eldest and youngest sons of his eldest son Richard, who d.v.p. They are claimed by Susanna M. Marshall, the youngest daughter of Thomas under the customs of the manor of Knowle, which favours the youngest child.
