Licence from Queen Elizabeth I to Antony Throgmerton citizen and grocer of London to alienate to Thomas Leighe knt., alderman of London and Alice his wife, the grange of Melborne [Millburn Grange] with appurtenances in the parish of Stoneley co. Warr', the mansion house of Melborne together with all houses, buildings, lands, tenements, gardens, orchards, dovecotes, meadows, pastures, commons, etc. together with pasture for 360 sheep upon Stoneley heath, all the said property lying in Melborne, Stoneley and Killingworth, and also a watermill called Woodmyll with all appurtenances in the parish of Stoneley. First Great seal of Elizabeth - good condition.
