Bargain and sale by Richard Crosby, late of Canley, gent., to Thomas Hill of Hellenhul (Henwell) Grange, yeoman, for £14 in hand and further £10 to be paid, of pasture called Great Canockes, a grove called Canockes Grove and another pasture called the Middle Canockes, now in the occupation of Richard Hill, father of Thomas, held by lease of Crosby. Which lands lie in Canley between Stivichall Herne or Lookesmithe hill on the north and a pasture of Crosby called Womans Well Canockes, in the occupation of Richard Joiner of Coventry, butcher, on the south; the king's highway from Coventry to Kenilworth on the east and butten down towards Canley brook on the west.
