Description

Abstract of will (proved at Stratford 20 Aug 1557) of John Grene of Botley in Wootton Wawen: after death or remarriage of wife, watermill in Botley, close called the Brooke field, windmill and frac12; the well field with house there and half orchard, to son Robert Green and his issue. In default to son Thomas and in default to son John. House called Botley Hall where testator dwells with the green field, mayes closes, 2 leasows in tenure Thomas Knight, 2 crofts in tenure James Holyocke, half a close called the well feyld, after death or remarriage of wife to son Thomas Greene and heirs with successive remainders to Robert and John. Endorsed with abstract 27 March 1565 of conveyance by William Harmoy of Shorthampton in the Forest of Wichwood, Oxon., gent., to Andrew Archer, Tanworth, Warks., esq. of lands known as Master Waters in occupation Robert Lydyatt at Tanworth.
