Covenants dated 15 February 13 Elizabeth [1571], of William Clopton of Clopton, esq., with Raffe Sheldon of Beoley, co. Worc., esq., son and heir of William Sheldon, late of the same, esq., entailing on the heirs male of his body the manors of Clopton, Ryen Clifford and Bridgetowne with lands, etc. in Clopton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bysshopshampton [Hampton Lucy], Ryen Clifford, Bridgetown and Ingon, alias Ington, in the several occupations of Richard Charnocke, Ralph Cawdrey alias Cooke, Roger Sadler, John Shaxpere (Ingon Meadow), Lewis Apwyllyams and John Combes, with a life interest as jointure to Anne his wife in the manor of Clopton, lands, etc. in Clopton and Stratford-upon-Avon, and a meadow called Avon medowe in Stratford; with recitals of deeds of 17 December 13 Elizabeth [1570] and 10 February 13 Elizabeth [1571, concerning the premises. Witnesses: Edward Griffin, Thomas Valence, Thomas Lete, Nicholas Metcalf, Raufe Rogers and Raffe Bott.
