Grant: Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Grant from Geoffrey, son of Walter Lodere of Stratford-upon-Avon to William Saucer of the same place of a shop with its appurtenances in a Street called Le Bruggestret [Bridge Street] between the tenement of Thomas de Tredynton on both sides, to hold to the said William and his heirs for ever of the chief Lord of the fee. Witnesses: Nicholas Hykemon, Bailiff of the Borough of Stratford, William de Rouley and Robert de Brome, catchpolls, William Mollyng and Henry Brehull. Dated at Stratford, Friday next after the feast of St. Margaret the Virgin, 10 Edward III [1336]. Circular Seal of brown wax bearing impression of a nail within a horseshoe, legend indeciperable.
