Description

Mortgage from Raffe Sheldon of Beoley, co. Worcs., and William Childe of Pensax, co. Worcs., esqs., to Thomas Savage of Nobury, co. Worcs., and Richard Gardener of Himbleton, co. Worcs., gents., (reciting seisin of Raffe Sheldon and William Child, his trustee, of the Manor of Broadway and hereditaments therein specified in the said manor to the use of them and the heirs of Raffe Sheldon, and that Raffe Sheldon was indebted in certain sums in form therein specified to Thomas Bygges of Lenchwicke and to William Gowne of Redmarley, co. Worcs.) for £703 19s 2d. to be paid by Thomas Savage and Richard Gardener to Thomas Biggs and William Gowne in form therein specified, of certain hereditaments in Broadway therein specified, (except the liberties of free warren, view of frankpledge, court leet and others) together with the court baron, for a term of 2000 years at certain rents therein specified and for suit of court, heriots, etc. Covenant by Thomas Savage and Richard Gardener that if the said sum of £703 19s 2d. was not paid to Thomas Byggs and William Gowne that then such sum should, before 1 April 1585, be paid to Sir John Goodwyn of Over Winchendon, co. Bucks., Kt., William Child aforesaid, William Sheldon of Abberton, co. Worcs., John Alderford of Salford, gent., and Thomas Evetts of Mickleton, yeoman, with a priviso that, if the said sum was not paid to any of these persons, the said term of 2000 years should determine.
