Draft release by John Major, Northleigh, Oxon., gent., (the mortgagor) and John Heynes, Chipping Norton, Oxon., surgeon, George Gibb, Broughton Castle, Oxon., esq., Joseph Heath, Tamworth, Staffs., gent. (Assignees in bankruptcy of Edward Matthews, late of Chipping Norton, banker, now deceased) to John Ward, Chipping Norton, carrier and his trustees to bar dower (William Hale, Shipston-on-Stour, Worcs., innholder and Thomas Parry, Shipston-on-Stour, auctioneer) for £365 of Lower Warehouse and Upper Warehouse (now converted into a dwelling) near the Tyte [Tite End], Chipping Norton, part of an estate mortgaged by Matthews to Major for £1200, 25 January 1815 and directed to be sold by the bankruptcy commissioners of which Ward was purchaser of one lot. Matthews was declared bankrupt 7 July 1816.
