This catalogue was one of many printed as a marketing device. It was intended for wide distribution, to promote the forthcoming auction.

The auction was listed for Thursday 16th September 1847, at the Auction Mart, London. The auctioneer was Mr Robins and he would oversee the auction of 'Shakespeare's House at Stratford on Avon and Interesting Relics'.
