Description

Gift with warranty from Nicholas de Stivechale in Coventr' glover (cyrotecarius) to Robert de Abyndon' of Coventr' `Le Tippere' and Juliana his wife, of a certain parcel of land with the buildings erected thereon which formerly the said Robert and Juliana held of the said Nicholas for a term, in `vico Coci' [Cook Street] in Coventr' lying in breadth between the posts (inter postes) of the house of the said Nicholas towards the west and the road which leads towards the house which formerly belonged to William de la Hul on the other side and extending in length from the said street to the little plot next the land which Richard Chowhe formerly held; to hold the same of the chief lord of the fee rendering annually 4 pence of silver; and for this the said Robert and Juliana give 2 marks of silver. Witnesses: Henry Baker (Pistore), bailiff in Coventr', John le Gaunter, Robert Kelle, John Pyhod, John Abbot, Geoffrey le Dubbere, Symon Losewyt, John de Cornleye, William his son, and others. Dated at Coventr' on Sunday next after the feast of St. Dionisius, 22 Edward I. Seal on tag: circular, green. A foliated star ornament. Legend: S' NICOLAI DE STEVECHALE.
