Description

Notification from Thomas de Beauchamp', earl of Warrewyk, that he has received from William Boule, clerk, and Henry Caytewayte, clerk, letters patent of Sir Baldwin Frevylle, father of Baldwin to the said William, Henry and others containing the following: a gift from the said Baldwin, knight, to Sir Thomas Piere, Sir John Buttourt lord of Weleigh', Sir Richard Feton', knight, Henry Caytewayte, clerk, William de Boule, clerk, William Purfrey and Henry Standysche of the manor of Pynleye with its members of Stevechale and Wykene, £10 6s. rent to be taken from the Abbey of Combe with the advowson of the church of Herdeburgh', the manor of Schorteley, the manor of Stretford near Tamworth', the manor of le Lee [Lea Marston], and the third part of the manor of Mydelton' with appurtenances which the said Baldwin purchased from John Illary, and one messuage and one carucate of land in Broughton' together with all other lands purchased by the said Baldwin or his father in the counties of Warrewyk and Stafford; dated at Mydelton' Monday next after the feast of Epiphany, 9 Richard II [8 January 1385/6].
