Description

Bond from Arthur [Gregory of Stivichall] esq. to William Dawes of Church Lawford in the penal sum of £80; the condition of the bond being that, whereas the said William by indenture of bargain and sale of even date, has conveyed to the said Arthur a mount or plot of land in Brinckloe, encompassed by a moat on the southwest, a close of Thomas Bentleye on the northeast and the churchyard of Brinckloe on the west, and lying between a parcel of ground and pasture on the south, together with the said moat and the fishing therein, the said Arthur agrees that before the feast of All Saints next ensuing he will demise the said property to a person nominated by the said William for 60 years from Michaelmas 1598, at an annual rent of 40 shillings. Dated: 1 April, 40 Elizabeth. Tongue and seal lost. Endorsed: i) Mr Gregory his bond ii) Mr Gregory iii) Olde bondes
