Kingshill in Stoneleigh deeds and papers

Description

Gift with warranty from Richard Andrewes of Hayles, co. Gloucs., gent., and Leonard Chamberlayne of Woodstock, co. Oxon., esq., to Thomas Gregorye of Coventr', gent.; reciting letters patent of 27 June 34 Henry VIII, whereby the said Richard and Leonard received from the Crown the whole grange and messuage called Helinhull Grange in Kingeshull in the parish of Stoneley, late of the monastery of Stoneley, since dissolved, with all houses, buildings, etc. pertaining to the said grange, in the tenure of Richard Hill and John Hill; to hold the same in chief, rendering annually 5s. 4d. at the Court of Augmentations at the feast of St. Michael. Wherefore the said Richard and Leonard by licence of the king, and in consideration of 68 pounds to them paid by the said Thomas, grant to the said Thomas the whole grange, messuage, houses, buildings, meadows, tenements aforesaid; to hold to the said Thomas and his heirs for ever of the king for the service of a twentieth part of a knight's fee and rendering annually 5s. 4d. in manner aforesaid. Appointment of William Queningborough of Coventr', chaplain, and John Robbynse of the same, tailor, as attornies to deliver seisin.
