Description

Lord Craven, Combe Abbey to [Samuel Butler] asking him to speak to freeholders on Lord Leigh's behalf and not to commit themselves to any other party at the election [occasioned by death of Lord Craven]. Answer: Believes that many of Lord Leigh's freeholders are pledged to support Mr. Skipwith. Time is short and will be unable to see many.
