Description

Joseph Hill, Wansgrave, to Rev. Thomas Leigh: Encloses /36: Feels sure Mr. East would not approve Reference to law if fully acquainted with Dr. Maltby's issue, but if East himself will act and go to Leighton, writer would accept decision, though thinks surveyor and Builder more appropriate Referee. Recites history of 1646 Survey and subsequent additions to house by Charles Leigh, built on his rather than Prebendal lands. Refers to Dr. Maltby's claim, Mr. James Wyatt's character. Urges caution in putting anything on paper to Dr. Maltby.
