Description
Attested copy petition from Clement Throckmorton, Thomas Beaufou, Thomas Spencer, John Chamberlayne and John Huggeford, Justices of the Peace, to The Lord Chancellor complaining against Thomas Lucas of Stratford-upon-Avon for his irreligious, lascivious and incontinent life as well as his disorderly and violent behaviour. Request his removal from any qualification to act in the law. Appended are articles dated 27 April complaining that whereas he is neither attorney nor utterbarrister, yet he has for several years taken fees and acted as an utterbarrister in Chancery, Requests and the Exchequer, and has used the name of Mr Avenon a member of Lincoln's Inn, despite the latter's prohibition.
