Description

Case against Richard Archer, Stotfold, Staffs. gent., John Archer, Tanworth, Warks, yeoman, John Fletcher, Grehall, Salop, yeoman for violent seizure of 2 horses belonging to Richard Mervyk at Tanworth on 5 May 1437. Archer et al defend that Mervyk is tenant of Archer for Codbarrow and rent has been 8 marks in arrears for 8 years. The horses were distrained for payment. Jury empanelled: Roger Clerk of Tachbrook, John Coneton of Warwick, William Wylmecote, Thomas Mayell of Stratford, John Mayell,junior, the same Thomas Mason of Rowington, Thomas Smyth, the same, Robert Arden of Snitterfield, William Wagener of Alveston, John Bronneman, the same, William Plummer of Warwick and Edward Dalby of Pillerton.
